Your IRC client authenticates to the bouncer. The bouncer authenticates to IRC networks. These are independent. Client credentials go in your client config, network credentials are configured on the bouncer (via BouncerServ commands like sasl set-plain and network update). Your client never talks directly to the IRC network.
